Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy at Action Deafness is sponsored by The Diocese of Leicester, which employs a full time Chaplain, Revd Elaine Loydall, to facilitate the ministry of the Diocesan Deaf Churches in Leicester and Loughborough.
The Chaplaincy is available for the pastoral and spiritual support of Deaf and Hard-of- Hearing People across the city and county.
The Chaplaincy Service is a part of the Holy Spirit Parish Team based close to the city centre and our worship follows the order of Church of England.
Services are conducted in Sign Language and English. The Chaplain is available, on request, to conduct baptisms, weddings and funerals; and where possible be available to offer Sign Language support when these services are held in other Churches.
We have a signing choir, which signs at larger celebrations such as the Harvest and at Christmas. If you would like to join us for practice, please contact us.
We hope we are a living presence of God in the community and offer a warm welcome to any Deaf or hard of hearing person who would like to attend our services, or would appreciate our support and fellowship.
